No you don't. In fact, KDE won't run without an X installation like XFree86. > How do I uninstall xfree? How did you install it to begin with? If you installed it from RPMs, then use your package manager to search for RPMs with the word `xfree86' in the name, and then select and delete them. You can also do it from the command line with the `rpm' command. If you installed from source, then the easiest way is probably to re-download all the source code packages, configure them, and then run `make uninstall'.
