The nv driver can only drive a panel in resolutions up to the
resolution that the BIOS posts to. In the /var/log/XFree86.0.log
file there is a line that looks like:
"Panel size is" blah x blah
It should work with resolutions up to that size. It will not
work with resolutions beyond that size.
