Miguel, If the Server is not open source then the RDD should be moved to CONTRIBs.
IIUC you intend to modify all existing RDDs so that they can work as LOCAL or REMOTE mode. This is GREAT and in such case the API must be documented, so that someone may elect to contribute an open source Server. In such case a dedicated CLIENT RDD should be using INHERITANCE instead of copying existing RDD code verbatim.
