Ron, Patrick, Andi I found the main cause of the speed difference for SpeedTest. Harbor are using an alternative memory alocator instead of using malloc. This is a public domain code written by Doug Lea (http://gee.cs.oswego.edu/dl/html/malloc.html); dlmalloc is obviously very fast to reuse chunks of memory, that is why a profit so important when using speedtst.
Soon I will have the performance values using dlmalloc in xHarbour and the performance values using malloc in Harbour.
