-axxx Set data alignment boundary. Default is -a8; -a- means -a1 This is with Borland 5.8 so alignment seems to default to 8 anyway. Wonder if you're using an older version of Borland in which you would have to specify -a8 to ensure it uses 8 byte alignment.
