There is another question though: I tend to think that a WebDAV effort should be driven toward any XML:DB database, not Xindice alone. Once metadata are in place and included in XAPI it should be pretty viable to do.
While CMS is a possible application for XML databases, I don't think that an XML database must serve as a CMS, nor that a CMS need be based on an XML database. Certainly, a WebDAV impl can be built that utilizes the XML:DB API, making content management an application of an XML database, but the two concepts shouldn't be merged.
