Yeah, unfortunately this is CORBA causing a problem. You probably could work around it by using OpenORB on both the client and server and changing all string types to wstring in Xindice.idl. You then need to rebuild the server. I've never verified that this does actually work, but I think it should. Anyway, it's probably better to just wait for Xindice 1.1.
