James,   This is something that Kimbro mentioned a while back as an OPTIONAL parameter in the RPC messages (InsertDocument, RetrieveDocument and Query (SetDocument?)).  I'm not real sure what the compressed DOM code looks like, or have any experience with it is why I have not added it yet.  I am still working on the XML-RPC API, XML-RPC unit tests, and RPCException code, but I'm also in a situation that is not allowing me to put much effort into the project (I'm moving 3000 miles in ~ 4 weeks).  I'll hopefully be able to commit several files in the next 2 weeks before I drop my ISP.   Kurt     ----- Original Message ----- From: James Bates To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, May 16, 2002 12:37 PM Subject: Passing compressed DOM's accross XML-RPC Guys, (Kurt especially), I'm now wondering if it would be an idea to add in the XML:RPC server the ability to pass these directly, so as to implement serializing/deserializing on the client, speeding up things (The CORBA client/server works like this).
