[VOTE] 1.1 Release Plan

Xindice changed significantly regarding structure and protocol since the 1.0 release.  Even though not all bugs are resolved, it is necessary for us to produce a stable 1.1 release to get the community onto the new codebase, to further advance the project.  Many bugs, and activity on the user’s list are related to issues that may not be present in the current codebase, therefore, I propose that the main trunk of CVS be tagged and posted as 1.1-b*.  These distributions are tentatively to be posted here: http://cvs.apache.org/dist/xml-xindice .  Once a stable build is agreed upon, that build will be tagged as the 1.1 final.  I will act as the Release Manager per recent vote.  I will attempt to create some release notes covering some important changes.  Bugzilla issues and tentative resolutions follow:   Outstanding bug reports to be RESOLVED before release: 17035 Min 1.4 works fine (documentation)     Outstanding bug reports to be completed LATER: 15259 Xindice hangs when embedded 13745 XMLDB XUpdate Reference Implementation Not Thread-Safe 13746 src namespace declaration added recursively to Documents 14509 port number specification seems to have no impact 14846 not properly deleted 14878 ClassCastException 19203 for Multi-Byte Numeric Types Broken 20872 population of a new index created on a not empty col     -Kevin Ross   ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Vote:  Xindice 1.1 Release Plan [ ] +1 I am in favor of the release, and will help support it.
