Hi All,

There is a release plan for Xindice 1.2 on the dev page, which is
great, but it will definitely take some time to work on that. In the
meantime, are there any plans for intermediate beta-releases?

I think so, but I would not call them beta. Traditionally, 'beta' bears meaning of a 'release which is feature complete but buggy'. Intermediate releases with only partial implementation of features or only some of the features targeted for final release should be called 'milestones'.

I don't know what would be a criteria for those releases but it can be
something based on number of major features added to the project.

There are two schools of thoughts. One is time based releases (e.g. every 3 month), and another is feature based releases. Currently time based releases would not work for Xindice, but feature based will do.

Actual count of the features does not really matter much, IMHO, it is importance of the features that counts, and time since last release can be taken into account too.

Not
sure if the project is at that stage already but it would be nice to
get some feedback on the newly added features, such as
WebDAV/Webadmin interface and full text indexer.

What do you all think?

I'd like to see updated xmlrpc. And I still need to sort out caching stuff. But it does not have to affect release schedule: this all can go into milestone 2. So I don't see any problem releasing whenever... Does it help? :)
