Hi,

I'm a new user to Xindice and I'm trying to make some tests and benchmarkings on it. It look to me that Xindice creates folders in the 'db' folder that comes with the distribution for each collection you create, and adds whatever documents you create inside a .tbl file that has the same name as the folder. So far so good.

The weird thing I've noticed about it is that when you try to delete a collection for example, you'll still have the folder in the db folder! It's just doesn't get deleted. Furthermore; when I tried to add a big number of documents to a newly created collection then delete them, and I looked into the .tbl file inside the folder that reflects the collection name, I found that it's almost 15 MB of size although the documents size as text doesn't exceed 1 Mega!

Anyway, I think there is something wrong going on in there, I mean it's not logical that the collections and documents that I add are still there in the database. If we continue adding and deleting document and folders for quite some time, I think we will end up with hundreds of Megas of bytes, which does not truely reflect the information used in the database.

Is there any explanation to this phenomena? Are there any special steps that should take place to stop this behavior?

Thanks for your help
