Idea: Writing a Xalan Extension to Access Xindice

My idea is this: I use Xalan for XML publishing to html and PDF. Now it 
could be pretty convenient to store the data fragments in Xindice 
collections, but access to this without the need of an application.

I guess it should be rather easily possible to write a Xalan Extension 
that reads from a Xindice collection for further transformatino purpose.

This could work similar to the "document" XPath command.
What about this idea? Any reactions ;-)
