Hi,

I hope this is the right forum for a question like that. I'd like to see
an XML-Database which provides services similar to the ACID (Atomicity,
Consistency, Isolation, Durability) definition (or at least a subset of
that) to make it fit for "real" transaction handling. So far I haven't seen
this mentioned anywhere (am I wrong?) in the Xindice documentation.

This is an open and high priority development item, if you're really interested in the area we could definitely use some help with it.

As long as I am just reading data this is not really important but when it
comes to writing I will sure need at least a method of locking nodes in the
database until I have finished (Isolation). I think the other qualities
(ACD) could be implemented later on but Isolation is quite important.
Is there any possibility of isolating a node change or have I simply
misunderstood the processing of the XML-UPDATE?

As a great benefit from this functionality it would be much easier to
write a JCA-Connector for Xindice... This would be outstanding because as
far as I know the other XML Databases (e. g. Tamino) or Servers existing do
not provide JCA-Connectors or J2EE Containers for their products.

Tchaw!
