You can use the translate function and convert all characters to their
equal capital or small ones.
Just like this:
xpath =
"[contains(translate(<knoten>,'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ','abcdefghi
jklmnopqrstuvwxyz'),
translate('<SEARCHSTRING>','ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ','abcdefghijkl
mnopqrstuvwxyz'))]";
This translates both, the node value and the searchstring to small
letters. You don't need the second part, if your input is already small
letterized.
for example:
xpath =
"[contains(translate(<knoten>,'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ','abcdefghi
jklmnopqrstuvwxyz'), 'john')]";
Hope this helps.

Subject: is Xpath case sensitive?
Hello All
I am using XPath with Xindice. Can someone tell me how to make the Xpath
query statement so that it is not case sensitive. The query string is as
follow:
xpath = "//LegalCase[PetitionerName='John']";
how can this query work for 'john' as well.
Thanks
