Just to be sure: do you have resolver.jar somewhere in your classpath?
Not that I'm aware of. I'm pretty strict about putting things into my extension directories, so unless it's something packaged with Xindice (and being added to the classpath by the xindice script), I don't think so.
At any rate, javap can't find org.apache.xml.resolver.Resolver, so it doesn't look like it.
