Vladimir,
  Rather than let Tomcat automatically create a
context for the WAR when it auto-deploys you can
explicitly set a context in a context config file
(xindice-1.1b.xml) or server.xml that maps the release
to /Xindice context.  The context config file would
have to be distributed along with the WAR because it
is located in webapps and is outside of the WAR
structure.  Hope this helps.
