Thank you!
But how can I access the database via xmlrpc?
xindice lc -c /db results in "ERROR : Collection not found!" whereas xindice lc -c xmldb:xindice-embed://localhost:8090/db results in "ERROR : The name of a collection must start with '/'"
What am I missing?
TIA Carsten

when playing around with the current 1.1 version (after following Tom Dyson's instructions) I noticed that there are two instances of the db directory - one in $CATALINA_HOME and one in $XINDICE_HOME. Even after having shut down Tomcat an removing both db instances two new ones are created when I type xindice lc -l -c /db Is this a bug or am I totally wrong?
xindice lc -l -c /db accesses the database locally (-l) and looks into the XINDICE_HOME directory for the db
xindice lc -c /db accesses the database via xmlrpc and looks into where you started your Tomcat server CATALINA_HOME or CATALINA_HOME/bin for the db
Since Xindice still automatically creates a db, you'll have 2 dbs if you use the local and xmlrpc versions
