Hi,
yes thats the problem. Now I have deleted the PID-File 2 times and cannot
restart the server again.
When ./start I get:

Starting Xindice
----------------
Xindice 1.0 (Birthday)
Database: 'db' initializing
Filter: 'XMLRPCHandler' added to filtering chain
Script: 'GET' added to script storage
Service: 'db' started
ERROR: Could not start service 'HTTPServer'
Service: 'APIService' started
FATAL ERROR: Service manager could not be started

Should I reboot to solve this?
Manfred

Thanx Marc

Hello Manfred,

yes, you are right. Use "xindiceadmin shutdown -c /db" to stop the
server. the command "xindice" does not have an action shutdown.

If you do not use "xindiceadmin shutdown -c /db" and you delete the pid
file, then the server is still running. When you start another one, two
are running... This could end in a very slow machine.

Hope this helps again.
