We;ve even gone back to Xindice 1.0 now because we couldn't get the methods working with 1.1 for RPC calls via Perl and VB. I'm really stuck, but will keep fighting it tomorrow I think.
I can't say if these interfaces work as they are not a part of the main distribution and the wire protocol changes from time to time.
