xindice1.1 does not create db

Hi, All;

I downloaded xindice-1.1b2 from cvs, compiled it (with several
warnings) and copied xindice-1.1b2.war to webapps directory of tomcat,
restart tomcat (twice). Tamcat expanded the war file but did not create
database under WEB_INF/. Anybody knows what's going on? Thanks. 

I use tomcat4.1.18, jsk1.3.1 and linux.

(I have done the same thing with xindice-1.1b1 before, it worked fine).
