Chung onn and to all users of Xindice,   What jar files do I need to add the CLASSPATH variable?   Should I download Xindice 1.0 or Xindice 1.1 source code?  The problem is that the jar files that they contain under folder xindice/java/lib are different!   According to the Xindice Apache website at http://xml.apache.org/xindice/guide-developer.html#Setting+up+Your+Build+Environment I need to add the following jar files to my CLASSPATH variable:   ·  xindice.jar - contains the main Xindice classes that are used by the client API. ·  xmldb-common.jar, xmldb-api.jar, xmldb-api-sdk.jar, xmldb-xupdate.jar - contain implementations of the XML:DB API and XUpdate API. ·  xml-apis.jar - contains Java XML APIs. ·  xerces.jar - contains the Xerces XML parser. ·  xalan.jar - contains the Xalan XSLT engine. ·  commons-logging.jar - contains the Jakarta Commons Logging package   However, the problem is that some of the jar files like Xindice.jar is in Xindice 1.0 but missing in Xindice 1.1!   Please advice.   Regards.     -----Original Message----- From: Cheong Chung Onn [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, February 23, 2004 1:16 AM To: xindice-users@xml.apache.org Subject: Re: Why isn't commandline Xindice not working in my machine?   Hi Longtai, I too started using xindice a few days ago and i had tons of problems anyway i managed to solve all the problems - thanks to some kind souls :) I looked through your doc and i suggest you to do the following, download the tomcat 4.1.29, it helps to resolve the endorsed dir issue, so you dont have to bother about the modifying your j2se installation. The docs in the developer guide is a little confusing or misleading... just substitute all the context (i.e. -c /db) with xmldb:xindice://localhost:8080/db where 8080 is the default port for tomcat. one other thing, you only need to set XINDICE_HOME and update your path to XINDICE_HOME/bin. You should avoid using either the xindice-jar or xindice-war, rather download the xindice-src and build both xindice-jar and xindice-war because the src has the examples and config in them which i cant figured out why they are removed from the binaries?! Finally, i dont use wintel, my environment is osx 10.3. i wish you luck. i am still trying xindice out and i will try to update the docs to help those newbie like me to have a smoother and better experience in xindice but it wont be soon though.
