Most projects seems to be converging on using Saxon, which is released under a Mozilla Public License.

I'm not sure of the compatibility between this and Apache, but I suspect the Apache license is a little more demanding.

Its been talked about. Currently we need to find a XQuery implementation thats compatible with the Apache license. If you know of one you should post some information to this list.

Hi guys,

Is there any news of the roadmap for Xindice?
Specifically I'm waiting for XQuery support, and would like to know if it's planned soon, nver or what. I'm topping out a 30K documents in eXist, which is a bit small for my needs, so if there's no Xindice plan I'm going to have to drop
Xml:DB altogether and go for something like SleepyCat.

thanks
