It is standard. Everything after '?' is called 'query string'.

Yes. What did you expect?
If you want an 'official' way of accessing Xindice, you should be using XML-RPC
or XML:DB. Next version of Xindice will be also providing WebDAV access. Using
the URL above you are using 'unofficial' ugly browser - which is primarily a
debug tool.
