Where is libhamlib located? - usr/local/lib?
If it isn't in a default directory like /usr/lib, you may need to edit /etc/ld.so.conf and add the directory where it lives. Then run ldconfig.

I built a new shackcomputer and loaded the latest of hamlib and xlog, hamlib 1.2.5 xlog 1.3.1.1. When I run xlog and error that it can't find libhamlib-1.2.4.so.2. I added a symbolic link for libhamlib1.2.4.so.2 to libhamlib-1.2.5.so.2.0.4 but still recieve the same error. Any clues...?
