Ed, I did try that... Maybe I interfered with the process or something,
but it did a lot of xserver stuff that has now become part of my boot
sequence in Kubuntu. There are a couple of dozen lines of text before
the Kubuntu desktop then loads.

As Pier noticed, 2.0.5 is now on the Debian and Kubuntu repository. But
no success there either, perhaps because of my messed-up earlier attempt.

I'll fix it eventually, but for now I'm glad Kubuntu still starts and I
still have xlog 2.0.3.
