I know very few about client settings for SMTP authentication. I know only that XMail correctly authenticate clients with PLAIN/LOGIN/CRAM-MD5 and also external auth has been tested. I route this question to the mailing list where maybe some ISP knows about MUA settings more than I know. - Davide
