You've to inspect the slog file to understand what is really happened.
When the message got an error in delivery a notification message is sent to the
sender ( and to the "ErrorsAdmin" if set ) and the message itself is frozen.
You can use the CTRL's commands that deal with the forzen messages to
understand the cause of the failure and to unfreeze the email.
I don't know if GUI clients already handle CTRL's frozen commands.
