Good morning.

I've chosen to use XMail on NT as the server component of an "Email Broker" architecture prototype I am developing for my company.  A couple of questions arise...

When I create an account using the CtrlClnt tool, it creates a "mailbox" directory underneath the new user directory.  I assume this is where I'd expect to find any messages I'd sent to this account...is this a replacement for the "Maildir" directory structure?  The documentation on the website makes it look like these might be alternatives, but this isn't totally clear...

I don't have a domain name to use for this server, as this is just a prototype.  So, I'd like to just send mail to the IP address of the machine with the understanding that the XMail server is listening on the standard SMTP port number (25, I think).  I have the smtp.ipmap.tab file set up to allow access from any IP address.  ("0.0.0.0"[TAB]"0.0.0.0"[TAB]"ALLOW"[TAB]"1", right?)  So, once I have XMail up and running, and some test accounts set up through CtrlClnt, I ought to be able to send a message to one of those accounts at the address "jasonbarrett@[xxx.yyy.zzz.aaa]", right?  What I did was set up a directory under "domains" called xxx.yyy.zzz.aaa (the IP address of the local machine), and the user account jasonbarrett is a directory under that.  The mail never gets through and I'm not sure why -- could be an issue with our network -- but does my setup sound right, at least?  Or (since I'm a UNIX developer by trade, not an email administrator) is anything missing?

Thanks a lot,
Jason
