I suggest reading RFC 2821 (http://rfc2821.x42.com/) to review the SMTP
commands.

MAIL TO: is not a command.

You need a

mail from:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Then:

rcpt to:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Subject: 451 Requested action aborted: (-31) local error in processing

Hello,
I am just trying to get XMail up and running for the first time, so
pardon me if this is a simple question.

I have installed XMail 0.73 on a Windows 2000 machine. I read through
the readme.txt a couple times but have been unable to figure out what my
problem is.

For some reason, I keep getting the error in the subject when I try to
send mail.

If I telnet to localhost 25, I get the following:

220 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [XMail 0.73 (Win32/Ix86) ESMTP Server]
service ready; Sun, 24 Jun 2001 23:57:15 +0900
EHLO myhost.mydomain.com
250-mydomain.com
250-VRFY
250-ETRN
250-8BITMIME
250-PIPELINING
250 AUTH LOGIN PLAIN CRAM-MD5
MAIL TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
451 Requested action aborted: (-31) local error in processing

I looked around but did not see any documentation other than the
readme.txt file. Is there anyplace where old messages to this list can
be viewed?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Leif
