Ok, thanks. I'll go climb under a rock now... That fixed the problem with telnet. It is now working correctly there. There are way too many examples out there of telnet smtp sessions using the sytax without the '<>' characters. I am still unable to send mail using Netscape6, but I will spend some more time trying to figure this out on my own.
