In Outlook you can also turn on the troubleshooting logging and it will
capture all the commands to and from the server. Go to Tools/Options and
then click on the Maintenance tab, at the bottom check the Mail box.
Click OK to exit the Option windows and then close and reopen Outlook.
Go to Send/Receive and pick just the account you want to log, wait for
it to fail and then close Outlook. Now do a Find File for SMTP.LOG on
your computer, in it you will see exactly what was going on.
When you are done troubleshooting turn the Troubleshooting Mail check
box back off or your log file will get very large. :)
