hi davide, i noticed that interesting case:
the following mail had many MTA hops but arrived at the end at the right place (my xmail server). xmail declared that mail as "looped" and so the mail delivery failed ion the last step :| i think that is triggered by the MaxMTAOps server.tab variable, isn't it?
