It depends upon target application, resp. upon expected load. According to my previous experiences, the VB components tends to make random strange things under big load. It's possible that I'm deformed by creating applications handling daily millions of requests and few hundereds of simultaneous requests. But therefore simply I don't like VB components. Visual Basic is great for simple things, user interfaces and database tasks. But it's performance is not good and tends to crash when overloaded. Moreover, Visual Basic isn't good for tasks like computing of MD5 hash and must use other subcomponents and libraries like aamd532.dll etc. -- Michal A.
