I am new to this list so please bare with me. I tried to install xmail on an old compaq server (Slackware linux with xmail 1.10) Looks like a very powerfull package. However I cannot get it to post a single message. Now I know this is not much info but I wouldn't know where to start. AFAIK, I 've done everything the right way. I checked three differrent documentation sites; the xmail homepage, a HOWTO for PPCs and another I cannot remember. I've setup the domain, the service. Config and executables live on "/var/MailRoot/" and "/var/MailRoot/bin"; the service starts alright (about 30 to 40 processes if I do "ps ax") and everything looks ok. I did the administration throught "telnet . 6017" with root<tab>password (which was first encrypted with XMCrypt). I see my test users list and my domain list, I can telnet to port 25 and initiate writing a message from one test user to another, but when it comes to receiving the message, it dissappears into thin air !! Could someone please tell me where I've taken the wrong path ? Or what could be possibly wrong ???
