The difference is that if you have a file listing 192.168.12.34 220 I'm XMail 1.6 10.0.12.34 220 stealth mode active then "cat filename | fgrep XMail" won't show 10.0.12.34... I'd say that there seems to be a certain demand for this feature, and I doubt it would take much time to add it. Why not do so and save all the time it takes you to reason about not adding it every time it comes up?
