Your LAN question in short: Get your client a domain (f.i. clientsdomain.com) Have their ISP setup MX records for clientsdomain pointing it out to the mailserver at their ISP. Have their ISP forward _all_ mail for clientsdomain.com into a pop3 mailbox. In Xmail you administer all local accounts, so you could make sales@, info@, support@,... Mailboxes. In Xmail fetch the content of this pop3 mailbox on regular basis. Xmail distributes all this mail into the appropriate mailboxes. Have the guys (girlz) who work there fetch the content of these mailboxes into their mailclient and Voila ;-) With this solution you receive _all_ mail sent to clientsdomain.com (also wrongly adressed ones in the mailbox which is responisble dealing with this -postmaster-)
With this goal in mind ... Take that coffee and read the manual for setup. Spam filters are described in various docs... Looks like a fine package to me ! :-) The messages I wouldn't receive were "locked". All I had to do is telnet to the admin port 6017 and use the commands "frozlist" and "frozdel" to get rid of the locked messages. Then did some tweaking on the config (.tab) files (can't remember exactly; have to go back to the clients' site and write some documentation), restarted the service and VOILA ! System works perfectly fine. Seriously though, I would deeply appreciate if someone could answer the following questions : Here is the installation : ... Small LAN network with windows98; ... One static IP calling out through a router via ISDN; ... No DNS inside; ... One "real-world" e-mail account via pop3 through that ISDN line to the ISP My questions : ... I know for a fact that the users inside can have their own internal e-mail address; However I would like a couple of those users (actually, four) to be able to receive external e-mail through the standard ISP e-mail account _without ones' e-mail message overlapping the others'_ Is it possible ? And if it is, how ?? ... Spam mailing: Any ideas how to get rid of spam mail on Xmail ? Any docs ?? I greatly appreciate you time; TIA, s. ----- "I merely function as a channel that filters music through the chaos of noise" - Vangelis _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe xmail" in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For general help: send the line "help" in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe xmail" in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For general help: send the line "help" in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
