Hello everybody, I've just installed XMail and I'm trying to connect to the server from my email client to send/receive a test email.
I've left default setings to test (xmailserver.test and xmailuser) and I have two initial problems: When I connect manually (via telnet to xmailserver.test 25) I get the server response but when I try to do the same from my email client, after connecting, all commands are denied. This is what I get in the details window of my email client: Connecting to: 'xmailserver.test' Error - sent data: "" Receive error: "+OK <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [XMail 1.10 (Win32/Ix86) POP3 Server] service ready; Tue, 17 Sep 2002 19:45:56 +0200" -> Successful Logging into the SMTP server as: "KATMANDU" -> Successful Error - sent data: "RSET" Receive error: "-ERR Command not valid here" Error - sent data: "MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>" Receive error: "-ERR Invalid command" Error - sent data: "RCPT TO:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>" Receive error: "-ERR Invalid command" Sending to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Error - sent data: "DATA" Receive error: "-ERR Invalid command" Sending message: "Eso" Error - sent data: "Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> X-Mailer: Calypso Version 3.20.01.01 (1) Date: Tue, 17 Sep 2002 19:42:42 +0200 From: "Javi Navarro" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Eso Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="=====_103228456228441=_" --=====_103228456228441=_ Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" eso --=====_103228456228441=_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii" <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <META content="MSHTML 6.00.2719.2200" name=GENERATOR></HEAD> <BODY style="FONT-FAMILY: Times New Roman" text=#000000 bgColor=#ffffff><FONT size=2>eso</FONT> </BODY></HTML> --=====_103228456228441=_-- .." Receive error: "-ERR Invalid command" -> Successful Error - sent data: "QUIT" Receive error: "-ERR Invalid command -ERR Invalid command -ERR Invalid command [ more Invalid command msgs ] -ERR Invalid command -ERR Invalid command -ERR Invalid command +OK [XMail 1.10 (Win32/Ix86) POP3 Server] closing session" Disconnecting -> Successful That's about sending, receiving email is even worst. I can't do a telnet to xmailserver.test 110. What do I have to configure?
