Ports used by Xmail:
25 SMPT
110 POP3
6017 CTRL -> do not send messages to port 6017 (this is your problem)

Try checking your config with
telnet [IP-of-xmail] [port]

Onderwerp: [xmail] Unable to use XMAIL

Hello,

I just downloaded the RPM and installed it. There were no errors and
everything seemed to work well, it is just that I am unable to send or
receive mail.

It took some investigation to find it was using port 6017, however, I am
unable to use it as an SMTP server. What do I have to do to configure it?
Are there any changes (other than the port) that I have to make to the
client?

Here is the error I get:

The SMTP server returned an error. Account: 'test', Server: '192.168.1.1',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '+00000 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
XMail 1.10 (Linux/Ix86) CTRL Server; Tue, 08 Oct 2002 02:53:56 -0400', Port:
6017, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC60

When I tried SSL I got:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'test', Server: '192.168.1.1', Protocol: SMTP, Port:
