Hello, all...

I run xmail 1.10 in linux and have not run into this problem before. Whenever a user
attempts to email (any user)@sls.lib.il.us, the messsage appears to work sent but then
hours later I get a message delivered to me (as the postmaster) and to the user.

[<00>] XMail bounce: Rcpt=[(name takenout)@sls.lib.il.us];Error=[The maximum number of
delivery attempts has been reached]

[<01>] Error sending message [1035909992851.75803.staff.berwynlibrary.net] from
berwynlibrary.net].

ID:        <SEDD>
Mail From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Rcpt To:   <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

[<02>] The reason of the delivery failure was:

The maximum number of delivery attempts has been reached

[<04>] Here is listed the message log file:

[PeekTime] 1035909992 : Tue, 29 Oct 2002 10:46:32 -0600
<<
ErrCode   = -5
ErrString = Timeout error
SMAIL SMTP-Send MX = "slsinet.sls.lib.il.us." SMTP = "berwynlibrary.net" From =
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]" To = "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" Failed !
SMTP-Error = "417 Temporary delivery error"
>>

Now, i should tell you. There's no reverse hostnames for any of my ips. I know the
users on the other end exist because they can email into my server without a problem
but when a user of mine tries to reply, this message shows up and the message is never
delivered. What can I do to fix this?

Thanks-

Jim F
