That's not necessary. :) They have their mail reader at home setup to "leave
a copy of messages on server" and "delete messages from server after X
days".

Yes, that is one solution. But I'd prefer something simpler if possible. :)

Hm, well, if you say so. I figured that since pop3links.tab behaves much
like fetchmail does, it might support this feature just like fetchmail does.
