Hi there, I am using XMailserver for about two weeks now without any problems, I'm really happy with it. It's a simple, reliable and robust MTA.
The only feature I'm missing is STARTTLS encryption support. I was able to add ssl encryption for connections between XMail and the E-Mail Client Software using the STUNNEL proxy (available for Linux and Win32 on www.stunnel.org). But only with native support from the MTA it would be possible to also encrypt Server-to-Server traffic (whenever the MTA on the other side supports it). TLS-capable Servers display "STARTTLS" after the EHLO command and typically use a library such as openssl to establish the SSL connection which is used for the actual SMTP transaction. Do you have any plans to implement TLS support in future releases? Does anyone know of a free Mailserver with TLS support for Win32? I think XMail would be the only one.
