Davide,
S=F6nke has a very important point here. It might not have been a big =
issue in the past, but now after Sobig.F we all know all the trouble =
that could have been avoided if such functionality existed.=20

Several people I know received thousands of mails as a result Sobig.F. =
The mail server's antivirus software removed the virus, but it was quite =
annoying and time consuming just to delete these messages.

Another problem is all the mails generated from remote mail virus =
scanners that are replied back to you.

Lars

Yes the big advantage of filters at smtp level would be that NO =
notification mail must be sent but a code would be returned and the =
remote mail server has to handle this. And for example a SpamAssassin =
filter takes max 5sec, mostly <1sec to process the message. that should =
not impair the smtp session?!

This would be A VERY NICE AND USEFUL feature!!
