I think I will use the code as I have spam assassin set to tag
emails as spam if they score 9. So far in 6 months I haven't had any
problems with it tagging stuff as spam incorrectly.

This is true. Maybe a better idea would be to modify it to write it to a
file somewhere to save until you can double-check it...
