Patched Xmail can not affect your filters. Patched XMail is useful only and especially with Courier IMAP. If you don not use patched XMail then users will get double and triple messages through POP after IMAP (Courier-IMAP) access. If it's not critical to you then use ordinary XMail v1.17
I think I should publish the patch source code to make it clear.
