By placing the corey user in smtpauth.tab, and making sure the password
was correct and non-encrypted, solved the problem. I had assumed that
the DefaultSmtpPerms would be setup for a user when you used the Ctrl
interface's "useradd" command. The smtpauth.tab file was actually empty.

So am I assuming correctly that for an xmail user to be able to use SMTP
with an off-host mail client, they must always be hand-added to the
smtpauth.tab file?

Thanks for all your help everyone.
