I hope you will help me understand what is not working with xav.exe on my
systems. This is not yet a filter problem as such, or even an xmail issue
yet! Only because I cant get that far. The xav executable just does not run
on any system for me - and I must be making a fools mistake somewhere.
Before trying xav, I have been using Edinilson's virus scripts very well.

Systems: Any/All Windows Systems Make same results
                Windows 2k Standard Server
                Windows XP Professional
                Windows Server 2003
All systems tested are patched complete, with current service packs.

Problem:
When xav.exe is launched, nothing happens.
When launched from dos box, nothing happens.
When launched from Windows GUI, nothing happens.
When Launched from filters tab in xmail, nothing happens.

Nothing Happens?
Nothing at all. No log is ever created. There is No WATSON error. There
is no feedback in any way to indicate what might be going wrong. I have set
debug=1 on the ini, and "Everyone" has full control of filesystem and exe.

The xav.ini file is in the same dir as xav.exe. But it really doesn't seem
to make any difference if it is there or not. I don't think it gets that
far - but without ANY logging or errors - I can't quite figure out what to
look at next.

All suggestions are welcome!

Tony
