It wouldn't hurt to have an explanation of the filter.pre-data.tab and filter.post-data.tab up in the section where you describe the other tab files (just a couple of lines that say something like "See Message Filtering section, below, would be fine). And a little more explanation of how return codes can be used for custom actions (if this is possible - I haven't dug into the code to look at it yet) would be nice.
