Hello all. I am in the process of investigating the building of a new mail server for a small ISP.
I have set up XMail on a test machine and was wondering the following: 1. I got UMPL working OK but was interested in XPAI and can't seem to get it running. I get to the login screen but cannot actually log in using the "superuser" account I added manually to ctrlaccounts.tab. Ideas?? 2. I would like to set up message filtering that can be configured by the end users. I've found how to add SpamAssassin into XMail but how can the users filter mail at the server level to delete them or move them to other than INBOX using the tags inserted by SA. I'd like to set up a web interface that they can just click a choice of the tags I list and an action for each one. 3. I plan to add Courier IMAP and Squirrelmail to the mix. I'd really like to be able to filter my mails with procmail so they go into different IMAP folders (like now, on my current working server, mail from this list will automatically go to /home/username/Maildir/.sysmatrix-mail/.xmail/ folder). I get hundreds of messages a day, having it all go to the INBOX is not good. I haven't found anything about using procmail for anything but external markup or forwarding then passing back to XMail for delivery (to INBOX). 4. Realistically, how many messages daily can a decent server using XMail + SA + virus scanners handle? And is there a way to use SA type filters to block delivery at the SMTP envelope level only if it matches more than one condition (like hitting on SpamCop and SpamHaus also)? I still have a lot of reading to do. Hopefully some of you can get me started in the right direction.
