Hello Spyros Did you try to run xmail in debug mode to see more 'usefull' = informations when the problem occurs ?
Another think, verify xmail var 'SmtpMinDiskSpace' in server.tab file = as your disk is 96% full ... I don't know if there is direct/indirect relation with you problem as = doc explain 'Minimum disk space (in Kb) that is requested before accepting = an SMTP connection' for this var, so only concerns incoming smtp sessions = .... You said you used xmail 1.17 ... I did not have any pbs with 1.17, but = try, if not allready done xmail 1.20 ... And finally, can you give a bit more info about type of internet = connexion and hardwares used (dialup, permanent, adsl with modem ou router, ..., = isp, ....), where are dns servers (local, from isp, ...), firewalls present = and where, ... ? Some sort of common problems : for dialup and/or adsl connexions some routers/modems close connexion after a 'no traffic' timeout and restart = it on next demand, so it can be a too long delay to reopen the connexion = and xmail or dns resolver times out before link is up ... So more 'implementation' infos can be usefull to help more ...
