But you can try to create a symbolic link for /var/spool/mail/ to link with $MAIL_ROOT/domains/mydomains.com/. Ofcoarse if you use more than 1 domain, this wouldn't work period.
FYI- command is ln -s fakedir realdir. (Or the other way around) NOTICE, I havn't tried this so don't quote me on it.
